I ordered up 1/2 size as recommended and the boots are roomy in the toe box. I think that folks have a tough time actually getting their foot into the boot. Once your foot is in, it is fine. I'm normally a solid 8 1/2 and with a 9 I have plenty of room for a sock. The boot was comfortable right out of the box and I wore it walking around in the woods. I debated color because I was afraid these would be too light but they are a nice rich color. This color looks quite different on the Teva website. Here is a picture for anyone wondering about the color.

Love them! They are just as I hoped...good fit, comfortable and stylish. I have received several compliments on the size of the heel( not to high, just the right height) and the shape of actual boot. I have very fickle feet with high arches that need a lot of support and these boots are perfect. Couldn't have asked for more!

CUSTOMER REVIEW

review

As an avid runner and Mizuno user for years, I am disappointed personally in the new model. I have owned and "out-mileaged" 4 pair of Wave Riders including the 14, 15 and am now my third pair of 16's. There are so many new features in the 17 it feels like a totally different shoe. Some reviewers I read noted it being a soft shoe, I found the opposite actually, and where the previous models felt like they were hugging my foot and cushioned all around, I felt as if the shoe was flat and the only cushion was limited and directly under my foot. I didn't feel the stability of the 16 (though it is a neutral stability - I feel my foot is supported well in the previous models). In the 17 my foot actually felt "lost" in the shoe and gave more of the feeling of running on a hard, flat surface - no bounce, no spring and no support. There is less cloth on the upper and the shoe just didn't feel stable on my foot. There is less padding around the ankle - which many say is an improvement, I am neutral on that point.

Finally, there is a very visible change in the "curvature" of the shoe. Previous models of the Wave Rider had a noted rise in the toe of the shoe. With the new model, the entire sole of the shoe is flat. This is a significant change in the Wave Rider model.

Overall, I had high hopes for the Wave Rider 17, but am very disheartened. The moment I placed the shoe on my foot I felt the significant change, running in them confirmed it. The comfort, stability (albeit minimal) and "roll" of the shoe is gone. It is a totally different shoe, quite comparable to the Sayonara which I have also run in. I really have nothing good to say about the 17, except that its release has lowered the price of the previous model, which I will be stocking up on - no intention to purchase this new model.

These boots are a great deal for the price. The "leather" looks nice and is sturdy, not flimsy looking like some faux leather shoes. I was worried the gold hardware would be too much, but it looks really nice.

Update:

I've had a chance to finally wear my boots and I love, love, love them and wear them everyday!!!

(the boots needed their own selfie)

original post:

I was dying, and in agony, because I desperately wanted a pair of the Sorel Joan of Arctic Boots for this winter in the black, but I definitely could not afford the $150 price tag. And I despaired of ever getting the boots on sale at the high end department store because my size was already on back order and most likely would sell out before they ever went on sale. I really wanted the boots though, and decided to search for knockoffs and nothing else came close. So I came to trusty Amazon expecting to be defeated and to my surprise I happened upon these boots. I was on the wire about spending $50 dollars on a off name brand shoe I'd never heard of, but I was desperate, even for the knockoffs and after an intensive month long search I knew there was nothing else out there (at the time of this post). I'm cheap except occasionally when I really covet something, and I really coveted those Sorel boots so I decided to part with the 50 bucks (that's even a stretch for me, I'm a Ross Girl all the way) for these Holly brand boots, and waited anxiously for them to arrive and for me to be disappointed. When I received the boots (2 day shipping with prime) I was pleasantly surprised, they looked really good for knockoffs. Now understand the construction is definitely moderate to big box store price level, that said, they still look really cute, and feel really warm and cozy and seem very comfortable walking around the house in (I'm wearing them right now because I'm so obsessed with them). Hopefully I'll get a couple winters out of them, and if they wear well I'll definitely get another pair!

This shoe is super comfortable - a great weekend staple for me. I have the black smooth perforated pair - I typically wear an 8 or 8.5 in all sneakers. I ordered these in an 8.5 and they fit perfectly so if you're in between sizes I'd recommend a half size up! I have worn these sneakers for an entire day, out doing errands and running around and I get tons of compliments too - love them!!

These are FAKE! I have real TOMS which I purchased from the actual TOMS website and I compared a few things. First, the sizing was WAY off. I wear a 7.5 in real TOMS and could barely squeeze my feet into these. Second, there was visible glue hanging out between the canvas and soles of the shoes. Authentic TOMS would never have glue hanging out like that. Third, the stitching was wide, uneven and coming apart. Finally, if you look inside the shoe where your heel should lie, it says TOMS with a ™ sign following, real TOMS have TOMS and the ® sign following. These are clearly fake and Amazon has accepted my request to return. It baffles me as to how this seller is allowed to continue selling these fakes to thousands of people and Amazon is is doing nothing to stop it.

I thought these might be a bit clunky on as I only ever saw them in mens shoes. But mine are neat & look & feel great. I'm a Eur 37 & I got the equivalent US size & it was perfect. I have a bad back & don't want to wear heavy shoes if I can help it. These are perfect. 2 week delivery to Ireland which was good. I am a happy Sanuk customer. I smile when I look down at them on my feet! A little pricey but worth it.

They are cut a bit snug for people with wider feet especially around the toes, but they do come in wide widths too. Over all it's a good shoe for walking around, but lacking padding for those who are going to be running. I have to replace the inner sole with one that has arch support and more heel cushioning. The round nylon laces are a bit of pest, and I have to double tie them to keep them from coming untied.

The extra eye and low cut edge at the heel are well placed for people with higher arches. I can keep the upper part lose and my ankle bone doesn't rub or hit on the top of the shoe. It' allows for good ankle movement and the flatter sole on the bottom means less chance of catching in suburban running. A good design for fitness walkers and light joggers, but not suitable for long distance running.

I'm always hesitant to spend more than 10-20 bucks on a pair of black ballet flats, they're common and easy to find everywhere. I really wanted to find something that was not only cute but very comfortable for wearing to work and these shoes did not disappoint. I've never owned a pair of Dr. Scholl's before, they seemed like "old lady" shoes but oh my goodness have I been missing out because they are like walking on clouds. I work very close to the beach and seagulls drop clams which create little bits of clam that inevitably get inside your flats and stab you when you walk around but the cushion is deep that when they get in there you feel them but they don't stab you. It's fantastic!

Well, they fit well (hence the extra star). But I would think they'd look a little more high-quality in person for having spent over $100 on them. Very basic design, nothing intricate on the boot, so other than the brand the pricing doesn't make sense to me. I bought these for the color/texture. The online picture portrays them to look like they have a richer finish than the MUCH darker, flat, dull matte brown it actually has in person. Conflicted on whether or not to try returning them for some different boots, depending on the hassle required.

*Update* Ended up returning them (not much hassle at all) and ordered a similar pair of Hush Puppies boots instead. Much happier with these.

"My first pair of these. Nice to find a pair of warm indoor/outdoor leather slippers with an ARCH support which is the main reason I purchased. Good for people with plantar fasciitis. I would purchase this brand again. (What is with so many American shoes NOT having good arch supports?! Seems one has to buy European shoes to get good foot support.)" I wear an 8 1/2 - 9 medium width and the 9s were perfect for me.

These are the best, most comfy shoes...I mean sandals...ever. And they're cute too (I have standards when it comes to comfy shoes...no Crocs allowed...)

They do fit a little big - I would usually be and 8 or 8 1/2, so I ordered an 8. They fit just right first try, but they kind of stretch out a bit, so next time I'll be ordering a 7.

Great shoe made even better. From the comfortably sized toe-box, to the close fitting heel, with a comfy supportive foot bed in between, New Balance finally got it right. I've worn all iterations of this fine series (991,992,993) and the 990 is perfect, no need for New Balance to tinker with this beloved shoe anymore. And hey, its made in America to boot, or shoe, or whatever.

I've always wondered why people buy pricey athletic shoes. From outward appearances they look deceptively similar. After I bought these I understand why. Not a runner, I bought these because I have nerve damage to my feet, & they were available in a wide width. I also spend a lot of time on concrete floors(school). By the end of any work day I'm in misery. Seriously, this shoe I don't want to take off even when I arrive home. Best investment I've made in a shoe. I may even start running! Oh, and did I mention that I've received so many compliments on these shoes?

I read all the other reviews before buying these boots, as I have had trouble with Uggs fitting a bit on the large size. No so with this style! And I do agree, these boots are a pain to pull on the first time, but be patient, undo their belts and pull hard.....the softness and the fit once the boot is on is well worth the struggle! I have put them on and taken them off several times just to ease the pull on process, and by the third or fourth try, the boot slips on fairly easily. They are comfortable, warm, soft and just plain cute! I really really like them, and I got compliments on them the first day I wore them! Yay!
